Manga are Japanese comics which are serialized in different Manga magazines across Japan and when these Mangago become very popular among people, they often are taken up for an anime adaptation, which is an animated film or series.

Anime is very popular in North America, particularly in the United States of America. When a Japanese Manga series or an anime series needs to be translated into English, they mainly do it for the American consumers. In Our article today, we will be learning about a very popular anime series that people have been loving.
1) Fire Force
Fire Force is a popular anime series that has garnered a big fan base across the world. The series was originally created as a manga by Atsushi Ohkubo, where they did both the writing and the illustrations. This manga started getting serialized in the Shonen magazine named Weekly Shōnen Magazine by Kodansha between the time period of September 2015 to February 2022, and the manga was collected in 34 volumes. It was translated into English for the North American population, and the licensing for that was released by Kodansha USA.
As it’s popularity as a manga grew, it was adapted for an anime series whose production was to be done by David Productions. The first season ran from July to December 2019. A second season was announced and later, Fire Force Season 3 was also announced. The anime series was licensed by Funimation.
Plot of Fire Force
The manga, and consequently the anime also, is set in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. An event named The Great Cataclysm happened some 250 years back, 50 years before Solar Year 0. During this time, the world was burning and many things were destroyed.
The few ones that survived took refuge in the Tokyo Empire, which remained stable despite losing land during the event. In the year 198 of Tokyo’s Solar Era, a group of people form the special fire brigade named The Fire Force, where they fight off the spontaneous transformation of human beings into living infernos, called Infernals.
The main character of this series is named Shinra Kusakabe, who is a third-generation pyrokinetic youth nicknamed “The Devil’s Footprints” as he was able to ignite his feet at his will. This power killed his mother and brother twelve years ago, after which he was ostracized from society.
He joined the Fire Force in order to fight off the Infernals who are there to destroy everything. Apart from this, he is also part of the investigation and control department which looks over the rest of the companies should they get involved with any kind of corruption.
Some of the characters of this series are as follows:
- Shinra Kusakabe: the main character, is a young boy with special abilities
- Akitaru Obi: he is the role-model firefighter and in peak human form. Despite being at high risk, he is always ready to fight off the Infernals.
- Takehisa Hinawa: he can manipulate the power of the bullets he fires to such an extent that a normal bullet develops the power of a tank.
2) My dress up darling
My dress up darling season 2 follows the story of a young girl named Hikari Sena, who has a deep passion for fashion and doll customization. Hikari is known as the “Dress Up Darling” among her friends and the online doll customizing community for her exceptional talent in creating unique and stylish outfits for dolls.
Despite her talent, Hikari lacks confidence in herself and often doubts her abilities. One day, she stumbles upon a mysterious old doll shop in a hidden alley. Inside the shop, she discovers an enchanted dress that brings the dolls to life. To her surprise, one of the dolls, named Coco, starts talking and encourages her to pursue her dreams fearlessly.
From that point on, Hikari’s life takes an extraordinary turn. She befriends Coco, who becomes her doll companion and mentor. Coco helps her improve her design skills and motivates her to participate in doll customization competitions and events. Along the way, Hikari meets other talented doll makers, each with their unique styles and backgrounds, and forms lasting friendships.
